EPIC is an ESSI Project (project number 23659) involving nine European countries and managed by ONION with the financial support of the European Commission.

EPIC aims at organising multimedia based geographically distributed dissemination events. The project duration is 24 months, with commencement date on January 1st 1997.

The project falls under the European Systems and Software Initiative (ESSI) of the Framework IV ESPRIT Programme in the domain SBP (Software Best Practices) and, in particular, in the Task N° 1.29 - Dissemination Actions.
